I stumbled across this game earlier today while looking for a new rpg horror game to play--I loved the original turtle head, and I ended up loving this one just as much, if not more! I've played through abt 5 endings including Truth and Goodbye and god, Emma's story hit hard man. The art and character writing are amazing too! It really feels like an expansion on the original, and none of the new additions really felt out of place. It was also really fun to go through the concept art folder and the bonus room; I wish more devs would add stuff like that!
Turtle head is already a huge inspiration for me, and this version really re-lit my self-confidence for my own game, specifically with all the backstory behind Emma & Harriet. I was worried that focusing too heavily on relationships between characters would take away from the horror aspect, but I'm very happy that this game proved me completely wrong.
I'm planning on playing this again with a few friends soon, as well as getting the rest of the endings on my own. I can't wait to see what else this dev team produces! Congrats on making such an amazing remaster!
I'm stuck on the part where you have to go to the cafeteria. I've tried opening the jammed door, going up the stairs, waiting until the clock ticking stops then doing those two things...
What am I supposed to do once I enter the cafeteria?
I just want to say the game is really amazing , I got scared by the sounds the monster scared me too .
Spoilers:
In the Emma story, I saw a picture and I guess there was joe( from yttd) and it just made me happy the fact you know that game too, even tho we can’t see it closely I realized that it was joe.
I made an account just to tell about that part where I saw joe XD
I just got through playing the main part of this game and it was a blast. I really enjoyed the characters and the story. Awesome job you've done on this remake! Can't wait to get to Emma's story next.
Had an awesome time playing! The game really feels like a love letter to RPGMaker horror whilst still maintaining its own distinctive flavour. You could tell the dev team loved these characters by the amount of little details they scattered throughout (concept art folder was fun too lol). Awesome work!! :D
I streamed the game blind, but only ended up getting two of the endings (RIP)
This game was fun to play! I really appreciate the extra stuff you added like the concept art folder and all of the new content. I'll be following your future projects.
I love this game! However I'm writing this comment because I am unsure how to unlock Emma's mode aka obtain the true ending. I'm not able to get rid of the boards and I don't know what I'm missing. The ending guide doesn't mention anything about this too. I've watched some videos on YT and they have a diary note in front of that door, however I don't have it.
youre missing the 4 other diary pages. There's one in the art room, another in the printer room, one in the basement transition room, and one in the room with the bug spray
I was having an awesome time playing but then I got a popup saying the graphics crashed or smth? So I got rid of the tab and tried to boot it up again, and when I did none of my save files were there. I'll probably come back to it soon because its a genuinely fun game, but im really dreading replaying all that :'
This is how you do a remake! It shows all the love for the original and it deserves all the praise it has. I really liked the improved graphics and I saw you added lots of content to the original story too! It's really a great job, keep up the good work guys!
Great game, I loved it, one thing I wanna say is the heart part of Emma and Harriet's key chains are both facing to the right, and Harriet's says best friends forever while Emma's just says best friends, I'm not sure if they're supposed to be part of a set, but I assume so, that's just a thing I wanted to point out
I really loved this game, and I had a lot of fun playing it! You guys did a great job on it! It had its faults, but every game does. Overall I thought it was pretty good! I liked the art style, the atmosphere, and the designs. You guys did good!
Suggestion: Maybe a mode where you play as the police? I would love to see an extra mode where we are playing as the cops attempting to track down Simon and put an end to this nightmare once and for all! I can help! Making suggestions and such.
Игра мне очень нравится, но я застряла на одном моменте... Для того, чтобы зайти в комнату нужен фонарик, а для него 2 батарейки. Одну я нашла, а вторую не могу найти. Подскажите пожалуйста, где её можно отыскать?
You can find one battery in the desk drawer and another in the radio. For the radio, go to the home ec room and solve the puzzle there to get a screwdriver. That should let you grab the battery from the radio.
im back again this is the last part of my playthrough as i have unlocked the first out of 9 endings
overall the game is really good the puzzle is very challenging i really enjoyed the story so far which is really nice i do plan on getting atleast 3 endings and watching the rest
overall the game is very enjoyable and i appreciate your efforts for making this master piece
i think that key items/objects should be more obvious as sometimes i found myself just spamming interact on everything to find something because emma barely gives any help at all. i may just be dumb but I feel like all the endings are very hard to get and keep track of without tutorials and at that point you might as well just watch someone else play the game. Because of this , sadly, I have not gotten all of them and not played Emma's story, maybe some day i'll try sit down and get them all. Despite all that i did enjoy this game, i really love the characters, art and the story was great. i hope to see more games from you guys :)
First half of the game was great. Second half is not nearly as good. Issues I noticed:
Crashed 3x going through doors There's no collision on the wall to the right of the cafeteria door Music in the devroom keeps cutting out (other audio does not) Multiple puzzles on the second half are confusing and hard to parse (went to pikasprey's playthrough to look at those parts and he had problems at the same points) No way to see what endings you're missing or how to get them
If you remember ending pics, search word "End" in game folder via windows search bar, and you will found what ending you miss (if you don't see this end pic ofc) This will help me to found 2 last endings. How to get them you need a read txt file (cheat sheet)
I've been playing for a few hours, and I really do like the game so far! It was a pleasant surprise to Pikasprey's name when I clicked on this game, and I can tell there was a lot of love put into this (official?) remake~
-spoilers-
I would comment more, but I'm actually currently stuck at finding the key to the room Emma is locked in, and I've been looking for it for a while- I handled Simon and burned down the rope, but I apparently missed a key to get Emma out? Is it something I can still get, because the game won't let me leave without her at this stage, not that I want to since she's a sweetheart but I can't quite find how to get her out ^^''
I don't remember, have I shared the new let's play here? Either way, so I've been so excited for the full version to comes out and oh my it does exceed my expectation! It was so good, there's a lot of emotion at play with the arts and additional story. However somehow it's less scary than the original? I don't know, perhaps it's just my bias from playing the original. Here's part 1 (you might have already seen it on Twitter~)
Also part 2! (I've actually completed the game and even got the true ending, but the recording has a lot of lag spike (my computer is a low-end one!) so I decided to rerecord with lower quality which sucks because I've completed it.... by the way may one of the team message me of what's all the ending is in the game? If that's okay with you all.... I'm kinda interested in knowing what else the ending out there than the true one. Also, how long does Emma Mode last? Thanks!!!
Thank you for enjoying our game! <3 For endings, there's something in the files that helps guide you to find all the endings. It comes with a little in-set tutorial! And Emma mode lasts a little longer than the base game.
And that's the end of the nightmare, no one should suffer the same nightmare ever again. After finishing it twice I also notice that it also less harder than the original game? Perhaps also my bias. But no doubt it's more emotional and I can even feel their suffering and pain. Even tears up a little during Marina's part. All I can say is loving it!!! Can't wait to explore this "Emma Mode".
Well this is interesting. I found the original Turtle Head last week and when I finished, I thought to myself "Well that sucked." Imagine my surprise when I see this game trending. I gave it a try just to see how much of a change from the original there was and to be honest, my expectations were low.
I was blown away.
This game is a massive improvement over the original. The sprites look fantastic, the chase sequences were improved (the original game's chases were way too unforgiving), the characters were heavily fleshed out more, especially Emma and Marina, new fun puzzles, and the addition of more endings was a great touch.
I was expecting Emma's scenario to just to be about the same as Harriet's with just some changes in dialogue, but it was it's own game with much different puzzles and a much different story. Seeing her breakdown slowly was a neat difference from Harriet and I wish there was this much depth to Harriet in her scenario as I can only speculate so much about her issues with what I'm given. It was great to see the other characters from the perspective of both Harriet and Emma to help make the world feel alive, although I wish I could see what Simon and Mason were like back then too.
Overall I'd say everyone who worked on this did a great job in turning what I saw as a generic horror into something that stands out. Even if I don't find it scary (hard to do with rpgmaker), the characters and puzzles easily make up for that. Hope to see more from this team.
I'm in the middle of playing Em's mode but I LOVE this game! It's hard to find good, new RPG horrors that are longer than an hour or so but here we go this is just awesome and 9 endings only make it better <3 Also I found a little bug when you play Em's version you can kinda climb on wall on the right from cafeteria doors
I finished the game and all 9 endings. I loved to see this game remade with more gameplay. When I watched gameplay of the original a few years ago I thought that was it for this amazing game. Until Like 6 months ago I thought hey why don't I play this for myself and I did and I found this remake of the game and I thought this was the coolest thing. It really brought this game back. I thought the game would be cooler if the map was bigger and turtle head would roam around the school but then noticed there's only a certain amount people can do. The game was good and I was sad when I got all the endings because This might be the last time I hear of this game other then other people playing it on YouTube. This game was good and I decided to play it at least once every year to remember how good it was and the people that made it. This was a very good game I know I said that like five times but it's true. I will always remember this game as one of those games I feel great that I completed. My friend is a major simp for Mason and also says Mason is hot. This game is great and I hope I get to see future projects.
It seems like... there are 9 endings to this game. Is there a guide to find them all? LOL I found 3 and the truth ending. Will go back to look for them all!
I've been playing this for the past two days and finding it really enjoyable! The care and attention to detail that has been put into the environments, animations, sound design, everything really, is very impressive. It's been rewarding to explore and poke around in every corner to try to find everything. Also, I appreciate the numerous save slots, it helps with unlocking all the endings. :D
I have played the original turtle head and I have to say this is great. At first I didn't like how the characters looked when walking around but as I was playing I started to like it a lot. When I saw Turtle head I was surprised how good it looked. I also think the the plushies to save are a good idea to remind the player to save. The school remodel looks great as I said earlier the characters look like they fit in with the map. In general the demo is great and I would love to see the whole game.
Hmm, I haven't played the original yet so I can't say to much in comparison. But I'll play it later because you'all seems to very recommending it (threatening actually).
The game is good, I definitely get the Ao Oni feeling here. The story driven plot are also clear, it is quite easy for me to figure what to do next which is nice. The art too, they're adorable to look. The sound are also nice, I especially love the sound the Turtle Head made when we're hiding in the wardrobe/closet. But the problem lies in the BGM, as you can heard in my video it's quite 'empty' because the lack of the BGM. Other than that everything's good.
thank you so much for the comment! We’ll keep in mind the problem with the BGM and try to polish it up before the final release. Also we really appreciate the video you made, we all actually got super excited to see someone made something for our little game :)

how much endings does this game have?
Nine

You need to read the index cards and find the correct password for the library on the third floor. The password is T6482 if I recall correctly.
can we appreciate the pride flags on the third floor?
I haven't finished the game, but so far it's amazing!
Good Art, Good History, Good Game
I just want to say the game is really amazing , I got scared by the sounds the monster scared me too .

man, i just LOVE the game
for some reason the "jammed shut door" isn't open and most gameplays I've seen they just randomly open. great game btw I played it till morning :DD

Oh! I installed via itch app. I'll go look for the file. Thank you!!!

Wow, I liked the original turtle head so seeing this labor of love remake is great, y'all knocked it out of the park great work!
Thank you very much!
Thoroughly liking my experience of Turtle Head Unmasked, can't find a particular area on the 2nd floor that Emma mentions about. :)
Im so happy you're enjoying our game <3
