Hey everyone! Dev Dorkizoid here again to chat about new developments on Turtle Head. If you want to see more announcements but in video form, here's some highlights of a dev stream we did! Some information here is a little outdated though, which is something I will touch upon in this log. But just a warning, the video contains a lot of spoilers for the original game.



So, first things first, lets talk progress. The devs and I are working pretty quickly because we're still working off the kick of motivation around the outstanding response to our release. (Seriously, we can't thank you all enough). We made significant progress since what was presented in the demo, and have made betas of multiple new  maps! Here are some screenshots.




Along with the new maps, we also made some new puzzles to replace those in the original. The original creator of Turtle Head did a really helpful video of his game in which he sited multiple critiques. One such critique was the lack of diversity in terms of puzzles. Some other people mentioned this issue to us, saying that there was an abundance of puzzles that just seemed to be read note, pick up key, then use it somewhere. My fellow devs and I didn't really see this as a problem in our playthroughs, but we think it could be fun to create new puzzles! We were planning to keep things pretty close to the original in that respect, but having more flexibility makes it more interesting! So expect to be thrown for a loop when you play the game in the future, cause we have some fun ones in the works. 

Another thing I would like to discuss is  an  update regarding the endings to the game. As we change some things around, we decided to scrap the ending Traitor that we discussed previously. It simply didn't fit with what we are going for, so it's going to be replaced with another idea. We don't have an official name for it yet, but we are thinking of calling it "Harriet All Alone." It will happen in place of Traitor to still have the remaster have 5 endings in total. We are probably going to combine the idea we had with the Coward ending since they were similar. On the topic of endings though, we are going to talk about Truth.


Truth is the canonical true ending of the game, and has easily been it's most controversial element. During my research, I've seen such a mixed reaction. People either love it or hate it, but both sides of the arguments have at least agreed there's a fair amount to criticize. Pikasprey himself has mentioned he hated this ending, especially what's done with Mason in it. So to respect his wishes, we will do our best to fix the Truth ending. The devs have some ideas, and Pikasprey will get back to us at some point with what exactly he wants changed. Just know it'll be a nice surprise for all of you! Also regarding Mason, Pikasprey expressed wishes to have him be playable for a limited time in game, so that's something that's going to be in development at some point! We have a fun plan regarding that. 

Final thing I wanna touch on is that we have a Turtle Head discord server now! We check it frequently, so it'll definitely be the best way to get in contact with us. I suppose to wrap up here, I'll just share a link to the video the original creator made about his game. I think it's a great video that points out what needs to be improved upon, so watch it if you're interested!
