General Tips:

The whole point of this game is to be slow, so please enjoy it as such and don’t consult the walkthrough unless you’re totally lost!

While you’re exploring in the dream world, you cannot save — you have to return to the lobby to do that.

There are parts in the story where the only thing necessary to progress is waking up and going back to sleep. These are “break periods” in which you can freely explore, or otherwise periods in which the development team thinks it would be a good place to take a break from playing.

This chapter has one ending; none of your dialogue choices will have any bearing on your ending.

Prologue

Leave your room and talk to the woman in the kitchen.

Go to your room and interact with your laptop.

Enter your dream world by entering the top right door in the lobby, then the door with the rose on top of it.

Press A to return to the Lobby.

These can be done in any order.

To get all the information (all will originate from the Nexus):

Professor Asprey

  • Go to Grass Land (red plant).
  • Warp to Shine Street using the bulb at the bottom right.
  • Walk to the top and enter Rising Waters, talk to the mermaid and enter the bubble.
  • Go all the way up (it’s farther than you think) and interact with the rock with amethyst to enter Miner’s Stage.
  • Go all the way to the right and interact with the yellow box to warp to Area One.
  • Follow the path through Area One-Two-Three, in Area Three’s uppermost room there is a purple crayon. This is the warp to Mary’s Toys.
  • Near the top middle, there’s a staircase. Warp to Cozy Woods.
    • Once you reach Cozy Woods, you can exit to the lobby, save, and come back immediately — there is a new warp that will lead you here.
  • Talk to Emma and Harriet on the middle right.
  • Enter the house at the top, go to the right and talk to Professor Asprey.
  • Leave the house and follow the path downwards until you see bloodstains. Interact with the bushes. Enter the hidden passage.
  • Interact with the bloodied smearmin. Take her back to the Professor.

Maxxie and Juju (Starting from Cozy Woods)

  • Enter the place where you found the bloodied smearmin. Where she was, there is a warp. Warp to Sofa Room, then walk beneath the sofa. Warp to Sofa Wonders.
  • On the right, there is a TV. Warp to the Hospital.
  • Explore the hospital, head upwards first then to the west. In one of the rooms there is what looks like a small bowl. Warp to Midday Skies.
  • On the upper right, there is a stray wall tile. Warp to Masked High. 
  • Walk around the maze and interact with the papers on the wall found in these locations:
    • Upper left
    • Bottom right
    • Top right
    • Bottom left
  • Once you reach the bottom left, punch the crack on the wall four times. Interact with the paper to escape the maze. Warp to Flower Farm.
    • Once you reach Flower Farm, you can exit to the lobby, save, and come back immediately — there is a new warp that will lead you here.
  • Walk all the way up and talk to Juju.
  • Enter the house.
  • Return to the Lobby by pressing A. Re-enter the Nexus.

Veronica

  • Interact with the banana to warp to Banana Docks.
  • Walk into the boat, then out of the boat to warp to Wooly Islands.
  • Walk to the right and then down, and interact with the hand-mirror. Warp to Blank Mirror.
  • Walk to the upper left and interact with the sign. Warp to Softest Pass.
  • Walk down and to the left, then continue right, take the upper path, then interact with the rock. Warp to Blue Demons.
  • Walk all the way to the right. Warp to Midnight Lane.
  • On one of the tables near the bottom, there is a brown book. Warp to Aria’s Library.
  • On one of the tables at the bottom right, there is a yellow block. Warp to Yellow Brick.
    • Once you reach Yellow Brick, you can exit to the lobby, save, and come back immediately — there is a new warp that will lead you here.
  • At the top, there is a door. Interact with the door to enter the Below Bank.
  • Follow the gremlins into the door. Enter the yellow door at the top.
  • Follow Veronica into the right door.
  • Return to the Lobby by pressing A. Re-enter the Nexus.

Delilah

  • Interact with the train car. Warp to Tiny Cavern.
  • Interact with the small yellow plants to the top left. Warp to Floating Island.
  • Walk down and to the right until you see a snail’s shell. Warp to Rising Waters.
  • Interact with the purple pillow. Turn off the lamp. Interact with the cactus. Warp to Blue Desert.
  • Walk to the top left and interact with the dark eye. Warp to Ink Canyon.
  • Walk up and interact with the ghost. Warp to Ghost Highway.
    • Once you reach Ghost Highway, you can exit to the lobby, save, and come back immediately — there is a new warp that will lead you here.
  • Follow the dog. Enter Once Lived.

Phuong Han / Yami (starting from Ghost Highway)

  • Walk into the back room of Once Lived and interact with the Christmas lights. Warp to Chin Chilly.
  • Exit the building and walk to the top of the world. Interact with the flower at the base of the tree at the top left. Warp to Candle Swamp.
  • Walk to the right and then downwards. Interact with the white bird. Warp to Swan Lake.
  • To the bottom right, there is a red cylinder. Warp to the Red District.
    • Once you reach the Red District, you can exit to the lobby, save, and come back immediately — there is a new warp that will lead you here.
  • Walk up and trigger the cutscene. Follow the “thief” to the right and follow the path. Talk to Yami.
  • Here are the locations of the items:

Press C to wake up.

Interact with the laptop and talk to your friends.

Go back to sleep, enter the lobby, and watch the cutscene.

Follow Cris to talk to Mari.

Wake up.

From this point on, if you call Cris on your laptop, he will notify you of new warps and will help you progress the story. 

Go back to sleep.

Enter the lobby, approach Cris. Follow Cris and watch the cutscene.

Chapter 1: The Bouquet

Break period: Wake up and go back to sleep to progress the story.

Enter the Nexus with Emma and Harriet and follow them to the warp.

Walk up until you see Maxxie, Emma and Harriet. Watch the cutscene.

Walk down and talk to Emma and Harriet.

Enter the lobby by pressing A and then enter the Cozy Woods (patch of warm green grass).

Enter the professor’s house and walk into the lab. Watch the cutscene.

Go back to the Nexus, return to Flower Farms and talk to Maxxie.

Go outside the cottage and talk to the professor.

Break period: Wake up and go back to sleep to progress the story.

Enter the lobby and watch the cutscene.

  • The dialogue choices have no bearing on your ending.

Follow everyone.

Follow Pappu deeper into his dream world.

After the cutscene in which you meet Harper, Mari asks if you want to come back with them. This is the only chance in which you can explore Pappu’s dream world, so choose wisely!

In order to leave Pappu’s world, wake up.

Break period.

Talk to Phoebe in the kitchen.

Go to your room to change. Leave the apartment, walk downstairs, and trigger the cutscene.

Walk to the machine that says “ICE” and interact with it.

Walk to the shelf that says “Horsey’s” and interact with it.

Walk into your dream world. Interact with the eye in the Nexus.

Walk down and follow the path of roses.

  • The creatures that emerge from the ground as well as the creatures that follow you do not hurt you; you cannot get a Game Over here.

Keep going down to the staircase until you’re in a new room. Then go to the upper left into the open door.

Sit between the two eyeless figures, or interact with the rightmost door over and over until you trigger a cutscene.

Leave the train through one of the open doors.

Walk up on the red maze until you see the opening in the fence at the top.

Walk into the house. Interact with the slightly ajar door.

Walk up and to the left until you hear a sound and Nikki starts walking backwards.

Navigate to the top of the hospital. Interact with the strange entity.

Once you escape the nightmare, follow Mari into the right door. When you reach the doors that lead to the dream worlds, go all the way to the left. Enter the door.

Follow Mari into Once Lived.

Wake up.

Break period. To progress the story, go to sleep, and wake back up.

  • Note: If you progress the story here, you will be unable to do side quests until you beat the entire chapter.

Leave your room and answer the knocking at the bottom right door.

Go to your room and talk to Dr. McGuire.

After the cutscene, go back to sleep.

Enter the lobby and go to Mari’s office behind the desk.

Side Story: Delilah - The Pearl

Note: If you begin this story quest during a break period, you will be unable to progress the main story until you finish the side story.

Visit Ghost Highway and walk all the way to the right during a break period to initiate the story quest.

Follow the white-haired twins into Once Lived.

Follow Delilah into the back room. Agree to go with her on the walk. If you say no, she will wait in the same spot until you say yes.

Follow Delilah outside and to the right. Follow her down the highway. Talk to Delilah once she stops.

Play the card minigame. There are three rounds. Wait for the affirming or denying sound once you click on a pair of cards before clicking on more.

Follow Delilah to the right and walk next to her once she stops.

Play the wound minigame.

Follow Delilah to the left and walk between the two ghosts.

Head inside the house to begin the mirror minigame.

  • Pick up the sheet on the floor and put it on the right-side bed.
  • Interact with the right-side towel. Jump on the right-side bed. Open the curtains. Interact with the window to clean it. Get off the bed. Put the towel back.
  • Interact with the left-side plant and take one of the reeds.
  • Interact with the left-side nightstand and take the candles.
  • Go back to the right side and put the candles on the dresser.
  • Put the cattail into the right-side vase.

Leave and talk to Wisp and Willow.

Go up and to the left and interact with the twins.

Return to Once Lived.

Follow Delilah out of Once Lived.

Follow her back into Once Lived.

Follow Delilah into the back room after Naomi and Noah leave. Interact with Delilah.

Collecting the items for the dress:

Gemstones

  • Go to Yellow Brick, then the Below Bank.
  • Follow Veronica into the back room, then to the left room.
  • Check the box near the left side of the room to get the gemstones.

Pearls

  • Go to the Red District. (It might be easiest to get here from the Nexus.)
  • Walk all the way up until you see Emma and Harriet.
  • Walk to Yami’s hideout on the east side of the Red District.
  • Talk to Yami.
  • Return and enter Light Shrine. Do not wake up or go to the lobby.

Feathers

  • Leave Light Shrine and talk to Emma and Harriet.
  • Walk down until you reach the warp. Warp to Swan Lake.
  • Walk to the big swan (Noelle) and interact with Harriet.
  • To get all the ducklings…
    • Top left
    • Middle left
    • Top right
    • Bottom middle
  • Go back to Noelle and interact with Harriet.

Return to the back room of Once Lived.

After Naomi tries on the wedding dress, follow Delilah into the back room of Once Lived.

Walk up to the top of the church and talk to Naomi.

After finishing the final cutscene of The Pearl, visit Delilah to receive the roller skates.
